The Mountain Lake High School Student Council hosted a blood drive today. Students and Staff signed up to donate blood during the school day today and we were able to donate 22 units of blood! Thank you to those who signed up to donate today! Each unit of blood donated is able to help up to 3 people!

Our Pre-K through 2nd grade students had a great time visiting the fire station! A big thank-you to our local firefighters for taking the time to show us around and teach us about fire safety. We appreciate all you do for our school and community!

Yesterday our kindergarten students had a great field trip to Center Creek Orchard! Students explored jump pads, hayrides, bikes, a giant slide, and so much more. Students each came home with their own pumpkin. A huge thank you to the Darfur Sportsman club, who provided the funding for busing for this field trip.

Yesterday our Junior Class took a trip over to Minnesota West Community and Technical College to attend
Southwest Minnesota Workforce Development Board’s Career Expo!

Our students were able to learn about a wide variety of careers and talk to industry professionals about what their career is all about. We also competed in a Careers Game Show against three other schools where our participants were quizzed on their knowledge of the workforce in Southwest Minnesota.

Once the Career Expo was over we took the opportunity to do a campus tour around Minnesota West so our students could see all that their college campus has to offer. Then we stopped Centennial Park for lunch before heading back to school!

Come join us for Elementary Cross Country Day!

First grade had a great time visiting our public library! Students enjoyed exploring the library, learning more about all the resources available, and meeting a very special visitor—Penelope the lizard!

What a fun way to learn, explore, and connect with our community library!

Today our 7th grade class, along with 5 senior students, attended a Courage Retreat. This event was hosted at Windom Area High School by Youth Works. 180 7th grade students from Windom, Jackson, and Mountain Lake Schools attended this event along with 27 upperclassmen who ran small group experiences. The Courage Retreat helps students build skills and encourages them to be courageous in their everyday lives.
