What a wonderful way to wrap up the school year at our Elementary Awards Ceremony! We are so proud of all of our students for their hard work, growth, and achievements throughout the year.

Students also had the chance to participate in our Wolverine Way Mega Drawing for A&W gift cards — congratulations to all of our lucky winners! Thank you to our students for showing kindness, respect, responsibility, effort and integrity and what it truly means to live the Wolverine Way each day.

We also celebrated our final literacy event with a special book giveaway to help keep our students reading all summer long, thanks to The Robert and Helen Remick Charitable Foundation, Big Bend Wind, Apex Clean Energy and the Mountain Lake Area Foundation. Thank you to everyone who helped make these events such a memorable and exciting end to the school year!

The senior class wanted to do a fun event to raise money for a good cause in our community. They selected to do a "Soak a Senior" Event where fellow students could "buy" a cup of water for $1, a 1 gallon bucket for $3 , or a 5 gallon bucket for $5. With this event, our students were able to raise $237 for our local food shelf!!

Early out
Earlier this April Mr. Jahnke took thirteen Mountain Lake Public School students to Windom to participate in two honor bands: Six of our students were in the First Year Honor Band, and seven in the Second Year Honor Band. Each Honor Band consisted of 80 students from area schools. These bands rehearsed in the morning and presented a wonderful concert in the early afternoon.

This year Mountain Lake brought 31 students in 7 teams to compete and participate in the 97th Minnesota State FFA Convention. We had a great showing with a range of students from 7th grade all the way to seniors. The Agronomy team placed 2nd overall for the 3rd year in a row with Kathryn Wassman as the overall individual state champion. The Food Science team placed 3rd. We had a 7th grade student (Ethan Junker) compete in Best Informed Greenhand (B.I.G.) and placed 9th out of 352 contestants! We had 6 members earn their State FFA Degree on Monday Night. In addition, we had 3 members participate in the State FFA Band & Choir.
