On Friday Anatomy students visited the Aamlid Family Human Anatomy Lab on the campus of South Dakota State University today. They were able to observe and learn from 5 human cadavers, various teaching assistance and professors. Special thanks for the South Dakota State University Human Anatomy department for affording our students this opportunity, and to the SDSU Student Services team who took them on a tour prior to our Anatomy lab experience. Transportation for this trip was funded through the Mountain Lake Care And Share’s Community Giving Grant.

Our Literacy Event was a huge success and so much fun! 📚✨
Students in grades K–6 were treated to a special performance as staff dressed up as their favorite book characters and put on an entertaining dance that had everyone smiling and laughing. What a great way to bring stories to life!
The best part of the day—each student was able to choose a book to take home and keep, helping to build a love of reading beyond the classroom.
We are incredibly grateful to the Mountain Lake Area Foundation, The Robert and Helen Remick Charitable Foundation Trust, Big Bend Wind, and Apex Clean Energy for making these book purchases possible. Your generosity is helping inspire young readers and support literacy in our school! ❤️📖

🛼 Rolling into FUN at Mountain Lake Elementary! 🛼
Our students have been gliding, spinning, and smiling their way through our roller skating unit in PE—and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from Big Bend Wind! 💨
Thanks to their generous grant, our gym has turned into a place full of movement, laughter, and confidence-building moments on wheels. We are so grateful for community partners who help make experiences like this possible for our students!

On Thursday, March 19 the Mountain Lake Public School Band traveled to Madelia High School for the MSHSL Large Group Contest. The fifty-six member band played two pieces: Reflections by Cait Nishimura and Moscow, 1941 by Brian Balmages. The band earned Superior ratings from each of the three judges.
Two students, Melbin Felix Coronado and Andrea Peterson, stayed into the evening for the Subsection Honor Band.
Congratulations to the MLHS Band on a great performance!
