The MLPS district offers the following health services through the school nurse:

• Vision and hearing screenings and follow-up

• Early Childhood screening (formerly called Preschool Screening)

• Immunization compliance and monitoring

• Prescription medications during school hours

• Care for ill students during the school day

• Coordination of dental varnishing for elementary students

• Obtain dental kits and education for 1st graders

• Coordination of flu shots for staff and students

• Scoliosis screenings (5th and 6th grades)

• Growth and Development classes for 5th grade
